Bethany Fair, Inc. Standard Rules & Regulations

 

Rule 1 - Interpretation, Amendments, Violations

        Section 1. Bethany Fair, Inc. reserves to its board of directors, the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and to settle arbitrarily and determine all matters, questions and differences in regard thereto, or otherwise arising out of connected with or incident to, the fair.

        Section 2. The management reserves the right to amend or add to these rules as it in its judgment, may deem advisable.  In the event of conflict of general and special rules, the latter will govern.

        Section 3. Any person who violates any of the following or special rules will forfeit all privileges and premiums and be subject to such penalty as the board of directors may order.

        Section 4. The following rules and regulations will apply to each and every department of the fair and exhibitors and concessionaires should familiarize themselves therewith. 

Rule 2 - Dates and Location

        Section 1. The Bethany Fair will be held at Bethany, Missouri, Thursday, August 30 to Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, inclusive, unless postponed or extended by the management, which it hereby has the right to do, from any cause or causes whatsoever, which it may deem necessary for the good of all concerned. 

Rule 3 - Service Charges and Admission Prices

        Section 1. All gates will be open to the public at 9 o'clock each morning. Exhibit buildings will be open to the public from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm each day.

        Section 2. On each day of the fair, before opening the entrance gates, the police department will conduct a roundup of the grounds for the purpose of inspecting tickets and the rights of persons who remain on the grounds overnight.  Persons remaining on the grounds must have a season ticket, or pay the admission for one entrance that day. 

Rule 4 - Auto Parking and Traffic Regulations

        Section 1. Fast driving or riding or riding within the fair grounds is strictly prohibited.  Any person or persons obstructing any passage or roadway on the fair grounds with automobile, or other vehicle, will be requested by the police department to remove same immediately and failure to do so will result in expulsion from the grounds and arrest.

        Section 2. All trucks and automobiles must be confined to the space provided for auto parking.  A competent auto parking crew will be in charge, and all parking areas will be under police protection; however, in no case will the Bethany Fair, Inc. be responsible for any loss or damage to vehicles or their contents. 

Rule 5 - Public Safety

        Section 1. It shall be the duty of the Public Safety Department to supervise the parking of automobiles. Under no consideration will automobiles be allowed to park around the buildings or in any space in the central part of the grounds.

        Section 2. Every officer will be required to submit to an oath as conservator of the peace and will be furnished with a certificating clothing him with the authority to make arrests and preserve the peace and, in addition, may arrest and expel from the grounds, offenders against the rules and regulations of the fair management. 

Rule 6 - Liability

        Section 1. The Bethany Fair, Inc. expressly refuses to assume any liability for injuries to any person or damage to any property coming upon the grounds of the Bethany Fair, Inc. and no claims for injury to any person or damage to property

shall be asserted or suit instituted or maintained against the said Bethany Fair, Inc., its officers, agents or employees for said cause by any person having privilege to exhibit or license to operate on the fairgrounds or occupying any space thereon the fairgrounds or occupying any space and it is a part of the consideration for each license or privilege granted by the Bethany Fair, Inc., that such claims for injury or damage are specifically waived.  If any damage or injury or loss to persons or property shall be caused by reason of neglect or willful act of any person, firm or corporation, or their agents, representatives or employees, having license or permit to exhibit to operate a business or occupy space on the Bethany Fair, Inc. Fairgrounds, shall in no manner be responsible therefore, and in case will be subject to any expense or liability.  All persons causing same or liable therefore shall indemnity and said Bethany Fair, Inc. at Bethany, Missouri. 

Rule 7 - Administration Offices

        Section 1. The president, secretary and members of the board of directors will maintain headquarters in the administration building.  The various superintendents have their office in the building represented by their division.

        Section 2. The directors of the fair will consider it a kindness if patrons will report any mistreatment or extortion practices by any concessionaire or others on the grounds.  Do not wait until the fair is over to make a complaint; report immediately.
