Sunday, September 5, 2010 Grandstand Admission * $10.00 Hot Laps start at 7:00 p.m. • Racing at 8:00 p.m. Pit Admission * $25.00
Schedule as follows:
General Rules and Regulations The drivers and/or owners of racecars are responsible for the conduct of themselves, pit crews, family, and fans while on premises. Fines and suspensions could result for misconduct. Misconduct could mean, but not restricted to, fighting, profane language, getting out of car on the racetrack, consuming alcohol or illegal drugs prior to or during racing programs. Punishable by up to a $500 fine. The rules and/or regulations are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and in no way guarantees against injury or death to participants, spectators, or others. Every driver should inspect the racing surface to learn of any defects or obstructions, or anything, which in his or her opinion is unsafe. Drivers should then report such findings to track officials or management and declare if they will race or not. If the driver elects to race this indicates that the driver assumes these risks with awareness and knowledge. Driver will be the only spokesperson for the car. Any one other than the driver will result in disqualification. No one will be allowed in scorer’s booth without permission. Any questions about finishes need to be asked at the end of the evenings races. Scorekeepers are not flagmen. They make no calls about positions. They simply score you where they saw you finish. During a yellow when multiple cars leave the track, you are scored in the position you were in on the last completed green lap. Bethany Speedway assumes no responsibility for damage to or loss of your equipment, vehicles, or parts while on the premises. Management has the right to add, change, cancel or modify any class of cars or general rules. Heat race starting position will be determined by draw. Flags, Starts, and other Rules GREEN FLAG: Start of the RaceYELLOW FLAG: Displayed when a problem occurs on the track. If your car causes a yellow flag to be displayed, you must restart at the rear. Once a yellow is displayed, carefully slow down and get your car under control. Simultaneously raise your right hand and wave it back and forth to signal to the drivers behind you that you are slowing down under a yellow caution. During a yellow if you either cause it or are involved in it, you will be sent to the back. No Judgment Calls. RED FLAG: Displayed when there is a possibility of a serious problem occurring on the track. Stop Immediately. Officials may direct you to proceed slowly to another point on the track. Cars involved in a red flag will restart in the rear if able to continue. BLACK FLAG: Drive off of the racing surface for consultation with an official. WHITE FLAG: One lap to go. However, if the lead car has taken the white flag and a car in the field of cars spins, the FLAGMAN can call the race. You will be scored the way you cross the line. IT WILL BE OFFICIAL. CHECKERED FLAG: Race is over. But continue to race into turns 1 and 2 to prevent wrecks. Remember that one or more of your fellow racers might not have seen the flag & may be continuing to race behind you. REMEMBER: On all starts, all cars are responsible for maintaining a reasonable pace. Cars that roll over can’t return to the same race. There will be no working on cars while on the track surface. Cars that drive or spin off the track may not get the benefit of the yellow flag. STARTS: Start of races will be side by side in the vicinity of the cone in turn four. The front row sets the pace. Leaders will hold a steady pace. Failure of the leaders to hold a steady pace resulting in accordion brake checks rippling through the starting field and a subsequent restart may be just cause for the two leaders to be sent to the back of the pack for the restart. RESTARTS: Restarts will be single file in the vicinity of the cone in turn four. You may not pass until your car passes between the cone and the wall at the flag stand. Every car must pass between the cone and the wall. No one may pass before the cone. If your car knocks over the cone you will be sent to the back at the first yellow. Leader sets the pace and will hold a steady pace. Failure of the leader to hold a steady pace resulting in accordion brake checks rippling throughout the lineup and a subsequent restart may be just cause for the leader to be sent to the back of the pack for the restart. 1. Drivers are responsible for your car and your crew. Please be advised that at an Iowa race track a mad driver who had a bit of a temper tantrum and sped his car around the track during a yellow then drove into the pits , did a doughnut, hit and killed a kid with his car during this action, was charged with and convicted of manslaughter. Drivers are responsible for the actions of your car and your crew. 2. Stay in your own pit area. If you insist on going to another pit area and exchange anything other than words then you will be dealt with appropriately. Up to and including suspension, fines, and legal proceedings if necessary. If you go to another pit area and it results in any of the following:
You will be held responsible. This race track and its members will not be held hostage and live in fear of anyone or any group who refuses to exercise restraint with their hostile actions. 3. We do not race on flat tires. When you have been given the flat tire signal leave the track immediately. The only exception to this is on the white flag lap we will let you finish the race. 4. Payouts will be distributed at fair office under the grandstand. Pay out available as soon as score sheets are turned into office. 5. Verbal abuse to officials will not be tolerated. We have taken steps to make sure this does not happen. 6. Do not dump used oil on the Speedway grounds. If you are caught doing so expect to be severely penalized. 7. Racing is a hobby and should be fun. We are going to make sure it is fun for fans and drivers. If you insist in acting out of bounds like in rule number 6 above. We will help correct your attitude. Sprint Class Sprints must make one (1) lap in feature to receive show money! |
