each class to designate the breed (as designated in the breed codes.)

BEEF CATTLE REGULATIONS Jerry Price, Greg Stevens & Landon Snook • Superintendents 1. All market calves exhibited must be steers, purebred or grade, calved after January 1, 2010. Age will be checked on all steers. 2. All calves to be eligible to compete in the steer class must have been owned by the exhibitor since March 1, 2011. 3. All breeding animals shown must be registered and must be a part of the exhibitor's project program. 4. Market steers will be weighed and tagged Saturday, Sept. 3 at 3:00 p.m. Steers will be divided into classes by weight. 5. All bulls must be double tied in stall area. All Jr. livestock exhibitors are eligible to show in all bull classes. 6. Grooming chutes allowed in barns only if space permits, decision will be Superintendents. 7. Coloring and grooming practices follow Missouri State Fair Guidelines, unless otherwise announced. 8. See Animal Health under Beef Cattle.
Results of Harrison County Steer Rate of Gain contest will be announced and awards presented.
Harrison County Steer Performance Class Sponsored by Harrison County Farm Bureau 1. Each exhibitor may enter 1 steer. 2. Classes will be divided by beef superintendents. 3. Home raised and purchased will be shown together. 4. Show will be after Grand Champion Steer is selected and before showmanship. 5. Winner will be selected by the combination of rate of gain placing, carcass placing, and county show placing. 6. In case of tie most valuable carcass placing will be used to break tie. 7. Winner will be announced before the sale Monday.
PEE-WEE CALF SHOW (With Beef Show) BEGINNING OF MARKET SHOW • SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2011 REGULATIONS: Anyone who has not passed their 8th birthday as of Jan. 1, 2011 is eligible to show. Calf can be of any bred, and either steer, bull or heifer. The same exhibitor may not show the same animal in the pee-wee calf and 4-H, FFA beef show. Must pay pen rent to show in 4-H, FFA class. Calf needs to be broke to lead. Calf must be born between January 1, 2011 and June 1, 2011. Calves will all show together unless numbers require dividing the class. Show will be judged on: showmanship, health and grooming of calf, quality of the calf, and knowledge of youth about his or her project. Pee-wee calves will be allowed to come in on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011. They will be released after all the shows are completed on Sunday. The pee-wee calf class will not receive points for prize money. ****** |
