4-H EXHIBIT LIST

1. Members must be enrolled in project unit. The exhibits must be articles that correspond with project unit they are enrolled in this year. 2. All exhibits must be correctly and completely labeled before entering. 3. Exhibitors may enter 3 (three) entries for each project enrolled in, but only one per class. 4. Exhibits must be entered Tuesday afternoon, August 30, 2011 - 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. 5. Entries must be picked up Monday afternoon, September 5, 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 6. Only listed exhibits will be accepted and must be either constructed or raised by the 4-H members in the 2010-11 project year. 7. No article can be listed for sale. 8. Clover Kids are eligible to exhibit in the 4-H building for ribbons only. Where the exhibit list states, "any item made", the 4-H member may display any item made in that project. This includes notebooks, file cards, photo displays, posters, or educational displays. Regardless of project, the following dimensions must be used: Poster - No larger than 14" x 22"; flat only; do not fasten three-dimensional items to the poster. Photo display - All photos should be mounted on an 11"x14" mat board, not to exceed 1/8" in thickness. Material such as poster board or foam core board are not acceptable mounting materials. Margins are at the discretion of the photographer. No photos using glass and/or wooden, brass, plastic frames, etc. Photos can be matted with a single window colored mat if appropriate. No double mats accepted. To protect exhibits from dust and moisture, photos should be placed in a two-gallon ziplock style bag or wrapped in plastic. Photographers may mount the photograph to the mat board using an acceptable adhesive or approved corner mounts. No captions, titles or writing on the mat board. The picture should tell the story. Photo stories should follow the above guidelines and consist of no more than 4 photographs. Include name, address and county on back of photo. Educational Display - Must not exceed 11" in height, 12" in depth (front to back) and 14" in width. Must include three-dimensional items and stand alone. (Posters with items taped to them do not qualify as an educational display. Science fair display boards are too large.) Entomology or Geology display boxes - Box must be no more than 18" long x 24" wide and 3-1/2" deep to fit in display racks. Plexiglass or plastic covers are preferred. No handles or knobs. Scrapbooking - exhibits should be only 1 page representative of the complete scrapbook. 1. Size not to exceed 12"x12". 2. All pages should be in clear protective sleeve or clear zipper bag. Do not frame. Working models - These exhibits should show how things actually work (cutaway-sections of motors or computers) or can be used to help people identify parts such as those of a motor or computer. Many times these exhibits are considered "hands-on" and can be handled by visitors. Working models should require floor space no larger than 14"x22". Decorated Cakes - The use of forms or pans is recommended. Cakes should not exceed 13" in height or at the base. Cake boards should not exceed 1" margin on each side of cake pan or form. Must only use Royal Icing, Rolled Fondant or commercial product (i.e. Dapp) that will harden and preserve the decorated cake. (No real cakes, butter creme icing or tube/gel icing - displays containing these items will be considered ineligible and will be rejected.) Shooting Sports - Exhibits should contain no live ammunition and arrow points should be removed.

BREADS No samples are needed with any food item. Bread products should be displayed in mini-versions (portions of 1/3 to 1/4 of a larger total product.) Plastic wrap will be removed so drying of the food will extend display life of the product and food items will be removed from plates and displayed as part of a bakery display. Perishable food items do not need a second identification label. All tags will be displayed separately. 5. Biscuits, cookies, muffins and other small items should be four (4) per plate. Cakes should be displayed in mini-versions (portions of 1/3 to 1/4 of a larger total product.) A representative sample of each will be displayed. 6. Decorated cakes will be displayed in the cake decorating project. 7.
